For many, bringing a pet home is the same as bringing home new family. However pets are a little different than new born babies immediately they want to get into everything my goal here is to keep your pet, prized possessions and your sanity intact. Whatever your reason, these tips will help proof your home for the new, old and mischievous pets in your life.

When first home keep an eye on where you’re pet is at all times. You’ll learn their favorite spots and be able to keep them extra safe

food and snacks, make sure if you have smaller pets,  that they are out of reach to your new puppy or kitten.

Here is a list of foods you don’t ever want to feed your pet:

Alcohol
Chicken & Turkey Bones
Nutmeg
Apples (stems & seeds)
Onion
Apricots (seeds)
Coffee (grinds & beans)
Peaches (seeds)
Avocados
Dairy Products (large amounts)
Pears
Baking Powder
Fatty Foods
Plums
Baking Soda
Garlic
Potatoes (peelings & green)
Broccoli (large amounts)
Grapes
Raisins
Cherries (stems & seeds)
Macadamia Nuts
Yeast
**Tobacco, although not a food, ingestion can be poisonous

Just got home from shopping? Plastic bags can be either chewed and swallowed or can suffocate some pets accidentally
